From Morehouse to Beverly Hills — and why he built Artisa
Dr. Truesdale began his academic journey at Morehouse College, earning degrees in Biology and Spanish — graduating Summa Cum Laude. His path toward medicine was shaped early: raised by a PhD chemist father and an artist mother, the union of science and art became the lens through which he saw everything. The loss of his infant brother instilled a profound desire to heal and make a lasting difference in people's lives.
At the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine, he discovered his passion for the intricate world of head and neck surgery — a specialty that married the technical precision of medicine with the spatial sensitivity of art. The face, he recognized, was where surgery and portraiture intersected most completely. During his training, he honed his eye for detail and his love for reconstructive art.
Five years of immersion in the mechanics and aesthetics of the human face at the University of Michigan — one of the top-ranked programs in the country. Then Beverly Hills: a coveted fellowship at The Lasky Clinic in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Truesdale founded his thriving private practice, transforming thousands of lives and inspiring millions across the globe.
